Servant Leadership Academy is our new model of confirmation, but the classes are open to people of all ages. Servant Leadership Academy at First Lutheran Church helps people explore, engage and encounter faith as they study side by side with people of all ages. Our Servant Leadership Academy is designed after a university model where participants will engage in 6 core classes, and choose from a number of elective classes as well as enrichment experiences. The courses are all designed to be intergenerational, and we encourage all members of the congregation to participate.
When are classes offered?
The academic year will be divided into six blocks, September through May. Classes will be offered more than one block per year and typically on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sundays at 10 a.m. Occasionally a class may be offered at a different time or during the summer. The goal is to be flexible in the timing and frequency of classes.
If a student completes one course per block, he or she should be able to participate in the Rite of Confirmation after three years. While a three-year completion is doable, it is not necessary.
Registration for Servant Leadership Academy can be found below. This link will direct you to the Sign Up Genius website. There you will create an account and register for each class individually. Creating an account is important to receive verification of the classes you have registered for as well as reminders shortly before the class starts.
