Part of faith formation is equipping our kids to think beyond themselves and towards serving others. What an honor to be the hands and feet of Christ! Students are required to participate in service projects. Four opportunities will be offered throughout the year and your child is expected to participate in three of them.

Turkey Trot

On Wednesday, November 16, the Confirmation kids had their annual Turkey Trot food drive and it was a huge success! The kids scoured neighborhoods (and grocery stores!) to bring back food that was donated to the local food shelter. Over 80 turkeys alone were captured (the frozen kind, that is) and 3260 pounds of food found its way to the shelves for those in need. The kids were awarded points for the types and amount of food they brought back. Extra points could be earned if they could eat saltine crackers and whistle in under a minute, sing all of "Jesus Loves Me" or eat some perhaps undesirable food from a can, such as sauerkraut and tuna. A good time was had by all and a number of people will benefit from their efforts. A special thanks to all of the adults who stepped up to drive and helped tally the results. We could not havea done it without their help! The pictures below showed the work and fun they had.
