WHAT TO BRING:

  • Sleeping bag, pillow, air mattress - We'll be sleeping on the floor at the YMCA.
  • Towels - the YMCA will not provide any towels, so you'll need your own for showering and the pool
  • Swimsuit - there is a swimming pool, hot tub, and sauna at YMCA
  • Toiletries - soap, shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste, etc.
  • Extra pair of indoor shoes - We'll be sleeping on the same floor we walk around on. It's no fun sleeping in a puddle of melted snow. Bring an extra pair of dry shoes for activies in the gym and just for walking around the YMCA.
  • Warm layers -We'll be at the ski hill from morning to evening. The temperature will change throughout the day. Stay comfortable and dry. It might be a good idea to bring a fresh shirt and socks that you can change into later in the day.
  • Windproof/waterproof shell - stay dry, stay warm.
  • Snowpants - jeans and snow don't mix. They'll get wet. Wet clothes are really cold. Stay dry and warm on the hill, bring snowpants.
  • Stocking cap and gloves
  • Ski Goggles - if it's snowing, not only is it painful to have ice-cold snowflakes hitting your eyeballs, it's really hard to see! If you don't have goggles, Giant's Ridge pro shop sells them for approx. $25 - $40 (depending on size and style).
  • Sunglasses -if it's a sunny day, the sun will reflect off the snow and can cause "photokeratitis" (aka snowblindness). If you don't have tinted goggles, bring sunglasses.
  • Money - All meals will be provided, but you may want money for snacks and other things throughout the trip

Don't miss out on this great day!
