At the Core: Fruit of the Spirit
Introducing our summer worship series!
In June and July, join us for worship and a bible study. We’ll explore ways to live into God’s kingdom as Jesus would, focusing on each of the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
The Apostle Paul would say that the core of the Christian community is always Jesus. To say it differently, the main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing, and the main thing is Jesus. Jesus is the Core! Martin Luther once said, “Good works do not make the Christian, but the Christian does good works.” It happens naturally and organically when we are rooted and grounded in the Spirit of God.
In this series, as we borrow Paul’s image of fruit, we will get at the core of what it looks like to live in a relationship of connection with God and with one another. When we start at the Core, the Spirit brings forth the fruit. “Oh taste and see, that the Lord
is good!”
