This marks the beginning of Holy Week and is the Sunday before Easter. It’s a day where we remember the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem where people welcomed him with palm branches.

PRAYER AROUND THE CROSS – 6 – 7 p.m.
You’re invited to join us on Friday, April 18 for Prayer Around the Cross.
This intimate and contemplative service on Good Friday as we think about Christ’s sacrifice for our sins.
There will be worship, prayer, a video, and lighting candles in the Great Hall.
THE SEVEN LAST WORDS OF CHRIST: GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE – 12 – 3 p.m.
You’re invited to the “The Seven Last Words of Christ”, a Good Friday Service in First Lutheran’s Sanctuary.
Good Friday is a day where we remember Jesus’ sacrifice and love for all people has he died on the cross.
This service will have “7 words”. Think of it as each “word” as its own mini service. With each word we will focus on a specific Bible verse, special music, and a short meditation by a pastor.
People are welcome to stay for the entire service from 12 – 3 p.m. or if individuals would like to drop in for just part of it, that is welcome too.
MAUNDY THURSDAY SERVICE – 6 p.m.
Join us for a Maundy Thursday service at First Lutheran in our Celebration Center.
It will be a special service as our 5th graders receive their First Communion and celebrate this faith milestone!
Maundy Thursday is the Thursday before Easter, the day Jesus celebrated the Last Supper with his disciples. Jesus and his disciples had just shared the meal, and he was washing their feet when he said:
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” -John 13:34
Maundy Thursday reminds us to reflect on Jesus’ sacrifice and his commandment for us to love and serve others in our lives.
