Holy Anticipation - Waiting for the Light

by Shelly Erickson

Even though I am in darkness, the Lord will be my light.
Micah 7:8

We have all experienced dark times. You might be living in it right now. Experiencing loneliness, self-doubt wondering where do I fit in or do I fit in anywhere. Asking yourself questions, "Am I good enough, pretty enough, strong enough, smart enough?" You might be in need of feeling loved and validated but sensing emptiness. Sadly, 2020 has elevated these feelings for most of us.

However, in this season of waiting for Love and Light, hear God whispering directly to you, "Be gentle with yourself. I love you and I have promised you this."

The people who walk in darkness
    will see a great light.
For those who live in a land of deep darkness,
    a light will shine.
Isaiah 9:2

Love and Light are coming.

In this season of waiting God promises that, "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." John 1:5

For those of us who are grieving loss,....Love and Light are coming.
For those of us yearning to be with loved ones during this time...Love and Light are coming.
For those of us fearful of the unknown... Love and Light are coming.
For those of us facing a diagnosis...Love and Light are coming.
For those of us struggling with parenting, schooling, work...Love and Light are coming.

The promise remains the same, Love and Light are coming and they are coming in the most unexpected way. Love and Light are coming for you and me through a baby, God's Son, Jesus.

Love and Light are coming for each of us.

Be gentle with yourself in the waiting.
