In Need of a Blessing

by Shelly Erickson

We are blessed to have a God who is crazy in love with us.

He created us out of love:
See what great love God has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!  1 John 3:1

His plans for us are for good.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

God’s grace is freely given.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8

However when the stresses of life start pressing in (especially the recent ones) it can feel challenging and sometimes just overwhelming. I have had these moments recently - they are hard and they are painful.

I am going to keep this devotion short and simple. I need God’s peace. If you do too, I encourage you to listen to this song by Kari Jobe (feat. Cody Carnes) “The Blessing.” It is a beautiful song that comes from Numbers 6:24-26:

“The Lord bless you
         And keep you,
The Lord make his face shine on you
         And be gracious to you,
The Lord turn his face toward you
         And give you peace.”

The Blessing - Live From Home

Be blessed by the only One, who can give true peace. Amen and amen.
